Midstack: A Home for Midlife Writers on Substack

We are thrilled to announce Midstack from the editors of Midstory Magazine and the HerStories Project!

For almost a year we’ve published personal essays and articles from midlife women on Substack. Before that, for a decade, we’ve celebrated women’s writing on our website, anthologies, online classes, and writing groups.

Now, introducing….

Midstack is a community for midlife women who publish on Substack.

We want to do more than publish women’s writing on our own Substack. We want to connect midlife women to each other, to guide women toward reaching their Substack goals, to support each other’s success, and to promote other publications and outstanding writing.

Midstack has three components:

The Midstack Directory is a curated list of publication written by midlife women on Substack. While not all of the writers in the directory write exclusively on areas related to midlife, each addresses these topics in a substantial way.

Midstackers is a community forum just for women writing on Substack.

It’s a community, outside of social media, for writers to:

  • share their writing and get feedback

  • find opportunities for collaboration on Substack

  • learn about Substack through lessons and workshops

  • connect with other women through the forum and live meetups

  • ask questions when they’re stuck

Midstackers is FREE for paid subscribers of Midstory Magazine.

Stay tuned for more information about joining this community!

Finally, Midstack Reads is a regular round-up of previously published writing by midlife women from across Substack. We’ll post our Featured Reads 2-3 times each month.
