You can now watch a replay of this workshop here.
If you’re reading this, I’m pretty certain that you love personal essays. You love reading them, at least, and that’s why you’re here. Many of you also write them.
We love them too, and that’s why they’ve become what we are known for: publishing women’s personal essays (through first our blog/website a decade ago and then our anthologies and now here on Substack) and guiding women to write them through our groups, classes, and now our membership community HerCircle.
We’ve long been on a mission to make personal essay writing accessible to as many women as possible. Maybe thinking about writing an entire memoir or a novel is intimidating. (It certainly is to me, as I have never attempted either.)
But a true story about an experience, crafted in a way to pull a reader into a slice of your life? All of you can do that, even if you don’t view yourself as a “real” writer. (Side note: if you write — journaling, occasional words on scraps of paper, lines of poems or songs that nobody sees, a daily diary — you are a real writer.)
We’re thrilled to invite you to a workshop with one of our favorite guest instructors, Natalie Serianni, who has a gift for making learning about writing accessible to women of all backgrounds.
This workshop is for all writers of all levels — new, experienced, out of practice, curious.
Join the workshop this Tuesday. December 12th at 1 p.m. If you can’t make it, still register and we’ll send you a recording and handouts.
NOTE: Starting in the New Year, our Midstory writing workshops will be a benefit only for paid subscribers, as well as for members of our HerCircle writing community. We would very much appreciate you becoming a paid subscriber to help us pay our instructors and writers.
I'd love to watch the replay of this, if I can? I signed up and then life threw a whole load of wild my way...
Hello Jessica,
I am having trouble uploading a submission. The upload freezes in the same place each time. I'm not sure why.
